What a scary rollercoaster ride! This book had a fast paced feel to it, filled with lots of actions and thrills. The monster was so scary, I know I would never ever like to come across it. I liked how the author weaved a little mythology into the book, it made the story more interesting and believable. It kinda makes me want to read up on 'Windigos'. I'd love to see the book made into a movie just to see the creation of the monster or maybe it's best to leave it up to your imagination...

It was a very good read and beautifully written. I was a bit unsatisfied with the lack of answers towards the end (spoiler alert). I felt like the loose ends could have been more tidy and less obvious since the reader was just as much in the dark as the characters in the book and neither the characters nor the reader got any concrete answers. Overall a nice read to pass time.

This book was buried deep in the recesses of my memory until I saw the cover lol

I was surprised at how much I liked this book. I am usually wary of YA fiction. But this was just suspenseful and eerie enough

Rather creepy. Most of the characters and their dynamics are well written, but Ash is a bit 2D. Very little explanation of the monster by the end, but it still works. Danny is a sympathetic and relatable character.

A big creature stalks Hidden Cove every "x" number of years. It attacks Danny and his friend and they find themselves in a race to defeat the creature before it takes over their lives. Pretty creepy idea.

Older teens.

I liked the plot of this book, but I wasn't scared during the "horror" scenes at all...Therefore, they seemed a bit silly.

Absolutely loved this. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and actually scared me a little which is rare for books.

I quite enjoyed the mystery of the creature that was stealing kids in the winter, but the rest of the book was weirdly written as if it was an adult book instead of a ya book.
