Not as insightful or mind-blowing as I would have hoped. Just as the authors say, it's pretty much a collection of simple blog posts. You can read through it in a about a day.

All it does is re-confirm many things most of us have had on their mind ever since they first entered the fast-moving corporate world of today.

You already ready know most of these things. Or if you don't, this book will summarize some of the doubts and ideas about what's wrong with the stressful work environment most of us have to put up with - in a few easy statements and ideas.

What this book doesn't do is offer tangible solutions to the problems it discusses.

"Do that. Do this."

Yeah, okay. Sure. How, exactly?

It's interesting to see how 37Signals has made some of the choices they've made about their company, and their product Basecamp. I loved this book, not because I agreed with all their advice (I mean, I don't think i will ever STOP following a plan) but it does allow you to rework some of the misconceptions around startup growth and what's considered success. Like most business "self-help" book, Rework doesn't give much specific advices. However, it does have some very good points. But I think people who will be successful in starting business already intuitively know these points and will implement them.

Definitely worth a read if you're into business or management stuff. That's the book you'll want to keep on your shelf and go back often.

One of the pieces of advice in Rework is to not make big plans. It is clear from the organization of the book that they follow their own advice. No topic is more than three pages long, they are very loosely organized into a few sections, and there is no coherent theme throughout.

That being said, there are some interesting bits and pieces, and the book is certainly easy to read. Having read it all the way through myself, I'd recommend that others just skim the topic headings and read those that interest them. You won't miss anything by skipping around, because none of the topics are tied to each other in the least.

Half of it is the rehash of Getting Real. The other part is obvious.
