I've been following Jason Fried's work for years and have always enjoyed his writing. This book contains all the general principles Basecamp has written about over the last few years. It's opinionated and different, but regardless of whether you agree or not, it's bound to inspire.

When I started reading the book, I thought, "Oops, another book of mostly fluff...and drawings". Luckily I was wrong :)

Indeed, the book has a lot of very-common tips inside, yet it also has a structure to it. And this makes it more like a text-book with light-level of reading. Also, it is good to read how the guys at 37 signals have made it and share now their experience. As a bonus for the ones reading with thought, the book also has some excellent sections that at least for me, bring new ideas. This is what I value in any book. As it is a light read, I recommend it to everyone, as it shows an open & doer's mindset that is good not only for entrepreneurs (as a lot of reviewers often link the book to this society).

Short review: This is a great, very tightly written business book. It is not a "5 steps to a better..." book. It is a "be focused, make your own way, but learn from us along the way" book.

I have already bought one copy to give to a friend and will probably by another. The price is a little high at a regular book store ($22). But Amazon has the hardback for $12.

A quick read, but great. Heretical ideas about running a successful business that seemed to make a lot of sense for me. I'd like to own a copy of this book to review periodically.

Quick read business book. While there is some valuable information, I can't say I agree with all the stances taken by the authors. Mostly thankful the book was short (about 3 hours of audiobook) but still had some things to takeaway.
