This is stand alone young adult romance that ties in beautifully with other romances by Erin Hahn. I love the happily ever after romance story. It’s light and cozy. There is one kissing scene but there is a bit of profanity used. If the use of four letter words makes you cringe this is not for you.

I received an ARC of this from a Goodreads giveaway.
This is an adorable, bubbly, and current rom com. I would have swooned so hard over this in high school. Rock music loving girl with Chucks that falls in love with a sweet, sensitive Brit with a voice and heart of gold?! Yes, that is my aesthetic. (Although I'm not on board with Vada's hate of Stevie Nicks. Girl, we need to have a talk.)
The sugar sweet love story sprinkled with an amazing playlist and family drama reminds me a lot of Eleanor & Park. I also got Almost Famous vibes with all the music journalism.
Even if you're not a YA or rom com person, I think you could find something to love about this book. The characters are amazing, the setting is perfect, and it let your inner teenager come out to rock out once more.

I'm a huge sap but, I really loved this book. Two people who have crushes on each other but can't believe the other person does resonates with me. No spoilers, but the grand romantic gesture made me cry.
Also, I highly encourage anyone reading it to follow along with the soundtrack. The songs are tied to the plot and the emotional throughline.

This was not for me and did not match the mood I was looking for when reading

After 30 % it just didn't go well for me anymore. I was feeling okay about the characters before this point but after it was just dreadful. I was seriously kind of enjoying myself and the interactions but it was only during the earlier half. I didn't like anybody from this book by 60% they all annoyed and irked me so much I guess except Phil.

The way they were crushing over each other during the start was exciting but got boring. There was just not much to go between that that would keep my interest and that was the vibe I was looking for when I was reading this book. I just wanted it to end.

By 70% I couldn't take it anymore and just skimmed it through. My soul literally could not take reading anymore of this bullshit.

I felt negatively about most characters. Phil was okay, VADA was tolerable but the greenly family? Fuck that whole lot. Idc, I don't like them I borderline hate them.

Man this ruined my reading so much. I don't know how long until I recover from this. I may be being dramatic rn but let's see if I get the hope for reading again from 70% and seeing if I'll change my opinions once I really commit to digesting everything that's happening. It was just dreadful. Hahhh.

Edit: I really wanted to feel validated so I went to the reviews but it seems like I am the odd one out. I see mostly 5 star reviews from both this app and goodreads but I am adamant about my feelings when reading this book. It was not a good experience. I found this book after going through my past reads and it did gave out some of the same vibes as the books I read which I decently liked but somehow it this book had it in an unenjoyable way. Secret mutual pinning-which got boring, and something else that I can't think of rn. I should sleep but the thought of this book kept me awake in a bad way. I just wanted to see that 100% anyways I'm rambling but I will not let my feelings be swayed by other atleast for now. Also, experience gaps has been present to my recent reads far too much and frequently so it was the fuel to my hatred for this one. Hahhhhhhhh.

Edit edit: power went out so decided to reread from 70%

They both are so effortlessly talented that's it got hard to believe in it's validity. I kept doubting the greatness of Luke's lyrics so I just cringe whenever they mention the top hit song shit. I also doubt why the podcast is such a fucking hit, the thing about teen wolf was cringy as fuck.

Third act was lame as fuck. Okay, maybe the upstage performance was decent but it's really hard to believe that it deserved the response for it.

They're obnoxious. I hate public declarations. Just read the actual lyrics and... Meh. She got on stage.. Nope.

Okay I'm done, actually read the parts I skimmed through and yeah. I'm not very fond of this book, it's not for me and I just don't like how it went and how stuff got executed. I think i'm not changing my rating from a one star. Dunno.

I think I would’ve liked it more if I read it sooner. But this book and these characters are all manic pixie dream girls and that’s just not for me

Ya novel about two people head over heels with each other but they haven’t actually met and don’t know how the other feels. Super sweet read lots of music info intermixed.

Yes, please! More Than Maybe and all Erin Hahn has to offer please!!!! It doesn't matter that I'm a full grown adult with kids almost Vada and Luke's age. This book is heartwarming, swoony, and absolutely wonderful. Almost everyone has had a crush (whether or not it was so bad it debilitated them) so it's super easy to empathize with them. It's a chance to experience what happens when you click with that ONE person and it's a chance to fall in love with love.

Hahn has definitely embraced what I can only assume is a vast knowledge or her inner music nerd for More Than Maybe. While her first novel proved a love for music, it seems Hahn has unearthed her knowledge and given us all some new songs to add to our playlists. Whether you "gel" with the new (or in some cases, old tunes), you will fall for these characters one quirky conversation at a time. I don't just mean Vada and Luke. I'm not so secretly hoping Hahn would give us Cullen's story too because I'm a sucker for HEA and my hopeless romantic soul needs Zach and Cull to be forever. Phil is a keeper as well and would love to see him in the future too. Or maybe...More Than Maybe I need to tell you that this book is everything you want, hope and love about young adult books- regardless of your age.
