This was such an enjoyable book to read. I absolutely loved the way it was written, with the snippets of song lyrics and all of the popular artist mentions. It was a music-lovers dream come true. Whether they appreciate classic rock n' roll or prefer 2010's pop, there was something for everyone.
The romance was precious. From the very beginning, I just adored the way the characters were written - each of them interested in the other without either one knowing. It made the way the story panned out to be way more enjoyable. There was no angst or fighting, just a discovery of mutual interest and where that led them.
I already mentioned the music additions, but I have to take special note of how creative it was to have text threads entirely made up of YouTube links with songs that portrayed the texter's feelings. It actually made me look up a few of the songs as well, just to understand where the person was coming from or find out who the artist was.
There was a decent amount of depth in the book too, which always surprises me when it comes to YA romcoms. Sometimes they really lack depth and that puts me off the story super quickly. I thoroughly appreciated the entire narrative and really have nothing negative to say about any of it.
