She does it again.. It 2 hours after midnight and I just finished this book.. Couldn't put it down once I started it..

This story follows 3 POVs and I actually really cared about Maggie, Rosie and Katie. I loved each of their stories and viewpoints. I liked how they felt like a real family, they were struggling and didn't always do the *right* thing but you could feel the love in the actions (even if they were misguided).

Sarah Morgan is becoming one of my favourite comfort read authors. Nothing earth-shattering about this book but it sure was fun and cozy to read.

Maggie and Nick White raised their two daughters, Katie and Rosie, at Honeysuckle Cottage, in Oxford, England. Katie is an ER trauma physician and Rosie recently left for Harvard in a fully-funded doctoral program. Unknown to their daughters, Maggie and Nick are near divorce having been separated for the last six months. When Rosie calls Maggie in the middle of the night to tell them she’s not only engaged but getting married at Christmas in less than four weeks...in Aspen, Colorado, their lives are thrown into chaos. Maggie decides now isn’t the time to tell Rosie and Katie about their parents’ crumbling marriage, Katie thinks she needs to find a way to covertly convince her sister this is a mistake while she hides her own recent trauma and Rosie keeps quiet about her own doubts. The occasion of Rosie’s wedding sets in motion some hilarious moments as the White family descends on Colorado, their first Christmas away from Honeysuckle Cottage.

I really enjoyed this layered story, told from the points of view of Maggie, Katie and Rosie. Maggie & Nick’s ruse to present themselves as a still loving couple provides for some interesting and truly funny situations. The effect of Katie’s recent trauma, revealed slowly throughout the story, provides a more serious tone as she reflects on her life and questions her career choice. Rosie’s sweet nature is challenged as her family continues to relate to her as the young, asthmatic child that they all had to take care of and make decisions for. Their communication issues created a lot more angst than necessary but was deftly handled so that it didn’t become tiresome.

The beautiful setting in the Christmas season made this a delightful story. I really enjoyed Lucy Tregear’s narration as she has great comedic skills and timing. While there wasn’t much in the way of character distinction by Tregear, the character definition was strong enough to compensate. All three women were strongly developed and designed so I always knew who was speaking and the transitions were announced. This was a perfect story for the season, one that I was reluctant to see end. Morgan’s annual Christmas stories are now one of my must reads.

I wish Morgan would go back to writing straight up romance. I find the multiple leads in these more woman’s fic titles hard to like and under developed. I keep coming back for new ones hoping it’ll settle down - and I love her ski resort settings - but so far it’s not happening for me. Sad times because her books were such reliable comfort reads for me.

I found all three of the lead women in this hard to root for - one's too abrasive, one's too flighty and the other is too much of a doormat. You don't get enough time with any of them to really get past that and root for them. The men are slightly better, but you still don't ever feel like you get what makes them tick - and this makes the book harder to stick with and te resolution much harder to get on board with.

If you're a fan of winter romances, you better add this book to your reading list.

This book was multi-layered and focused on more than just a falling in love story. I liked the focus of family that was prevalent in this book. There were similarities in mannerisms between family members that helps instill connection between the characters.

Sarah Morgan always makes her characters flawed, which I love! It makes them easy to relate and empathize with.

A Wedding in December is heartwarming and charming. You come to care for each member of the close knit White family as you watch their drama unfold. Characters are relatable, the setting is beautiful and Sarah Morgan has woven such a memorable Christmas tale with plenty of romance.

A little too Hallmark movie-ish for my taste. Not my thing. Lol

A delightful holiday read! I loved the characters, and related so much to them—especially Maggie and Katie. I also loved the Colorado setting. A perfect December read!
