Will she be different? Not much made Orpheus afraid, but he feared becoming attached to her.
I really taught that it is going to be a short Monster X Human love story.
Reia is “chosen”/forced to be the bride of a demon duskwalker. Bcz as the sole survivor of her demon-murdered family, she was outcasted from the village and casted as pariah. Aka used as a sacrifice.
Orpheus, on the other hand, is a demon with a “wolf” skull, I think. He goes out in the human world, every ten years, to get a companion. In return, the village will get ten years of “protection” from human-eating demons, whether they were weak or strong.
When Orpheus first saw Reia, it/he was supposed that she did not smell any kind of fear towards him….
Together, being alone for years will live together and their relationship will bloom as time goes by.
But here’s the thing, Reia wanted to run away, like all his other chosen companion. And like any sane people would do,
Whereas, Orpheus hopes that Reia will become his eternity bride and gets attach to her rapidly. MMC is a HUGE(I mean legit everywhere) softie and just wants to be loved.
Their relationship was wholesome not gonna lie but sometimes, it felt repetitive which drags the plot. Reia goes on, back and forth, on how she is gonna run away and distance herself from him. But then, she is physically attracted to him and can’t help herself to feel guilty because he is too nice for a so-called demon. (In a way I understand FMC wholeheartedly, because anyone in her kind of situation would be swayed on how caring Orpheus is to them. But on the other hand, it seems repetitive.
FMC growth was kinda lacking especially her feelings for MMC. Funnily, we see more of his feelings for her in his PoV then her own.
{some may don’t like it but she definitely developed Stockholm syndrome.}
The smut was fire. I was not expecting Orpheus to be such a smooth talker:
"You begged for more, and I'm giving it to you." But he did bury his snout into her neck. "It'll be over in a moment, and then I can give you whatever you want. Harder, softer, deeper, lighter, faster, slower. Whatever you call for, I will make sure you have it."
;
"Oh, God!
"There are no Gods in an unholy place like the Veil,Reia."
;
"We are sharing bodies. Why can I not share my thoughts as well? You accept my desire for you, and I would like to tell you how much I want you so that you know."
