A very mature book, but with a very interesting story of loss, love and death. This book made the things seems real and funny at times. Jay Mclean wrtiting isn't the best but however when you think he was trying to be hip with the kids by using popular references and phrases, (well he was) only made it more entertaining and less off putting. More Than This is a must read.

Reread because I'm invested in these characters and this story is just so good.

I should start this off by saying, I'm a sucker for romance novels. Like seriously, my guilty pleasure is a good fallin' in love and rollin' in the sheets kinda story. Even cheesy ones can be enjoyable for me. And because of that I didn't want my first 5 stars of the year to be a romance novel. I tried to be objective.

But boy did I enjoy this book. I went through all kinds of emotions! I was so invested, finding myself laughing out loud and physically shifting in my seat so I could get in a better position to absorb the story. I started off questioning the reasons behind some of the biggest plot points and automatically thought they would hurt the story in the end. Oh but no, Jay McLean (author) knew how to bring things back just right.

Now I'm not saying this is a literary masterpiece but I did LOVE IT! The characters were charming, I laughed out loud, I teared up, and even got turned on a few times (TMI, lol) Is everything super realistic? probably not. But let me just enjoy it.

The reason it gets a five stars is simple cause it made me feel while reading it. Like, really feel. I cared so much about these characters, about what this girl was going through. And I'm a sucker for love, when all else fails I can relate to a girl wanting love..

Ohhhhh my goodness! This book blew me away. "I more than a lot love" this book. The feelings that are pouring out of me are difficult to convey in words.
This book is so heavy to read. I don't want to give anything away so I'm trying to keep this review spoiler free. I can and will say this Jake is make your teeth sweat kind of hot. Maybe even make him a top fictional boyfriend kind of hot! This guy is a prince, so unbelievably perfect for Mikayla.
The chemistry between those two is something else all together. If your wanting to read a book that has tons of sex, this book isn't for you. If you want sexual tension so intense that you feel it in your toes, down in your core, causing you to feel flustered and gasping for air? This IS your book.
Mikayla faces some terrible, tragic, and hard situations. This book will make you cry, laugh, curse, and leave you asking your man to give you an "O" or two to find relief. I'm totally not joking about that. And along the way you will be meeting characters you know you will never forget.

This story frustrated me. I thought that the whole story was pretty dramatic and unrealistic. I really couldn't get into the story or characters because I just couldn't connect to any part of the plot or characters on any level. It was also extremely off putting the amount of jealousy that was in this relationship. I felt both characters were way to jealous and intense with someone that they just met. And after every little thing instead of communicating with each other they went into fits of rage or just started crying.

I didn't really enjoy the writing in this book either. I felt like a lot of the conversations just seemed so unrealistic to me. There wasn't any part of this book that really got me on a personal level. I just wasn't a fan.

Wow, what a rollearcoaster!
I have some conflicted feelings toward this book. I more than a lot like it! See what I did there? But it whas a little bit of insta love for such a young age and I don't really think I believed in finding your true love so young *Snorts* Who am I kidding? I actually don't really believe in true love
But this story had lows and highs and beautiful moments and so I would definitely want to read the next one in the series!
