This book is so "Florida". Maybe that's why I loved it so much. There's so much nostalgia from the setting that other books taking place here just don't get. Mount Orange and Hidden Glen are fictional, but I've absolutely been there before. And excellent mystery making too.

this book was a mess 😂. I was really interested in the beginning, the suspense and atmosphere was written really well but it got sooo slow like for a thriller nothing happened until the 60-70% mark. A lot of the plot was predictable for me, and not because of good foreshadowing imo. I just could not get on board with the driving factor of this plot (that Rio and Tru were reincarnations of Celeste and Bailey) . Maybe if it had been done differently I would’ve been more convinced by it but it felt kind of contrived to me and used as a lazy way to set up the relationship between Rio and Tru. I liked the characters as much as I could but I was so over the relationship drama and East deserved so much better on all fronts ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
By the time we got to the killer reveal at the end I was so done 😂, I guess I was interested enough to find out how it ended but I was not impressed.
