This just didn’t do it for me I’m afraid. I was lukewarm to the first book but decided to give the second a try. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t give me that warm comforting feeling like Thursday Murder Club, and so I doubt I’ll continue.
I also thought the casual use of racism was a bit uncomfortable in a book published in 2023, even if it is set in the late 80s. I just feel it could have been handled better

Very different to the first book, better in style but lacking in substance. Very dark!

Much better than the first book, though the chapters are annoyingly long!

Kirkkopoliittisia sivuhuomioita murhamysteerissa - mikäpä sen hauskempaa! Kirkollisen esineistön käännöksissä oli mielestäni epäselvyyksiä.

Liked a lot! I also really liked his first one: vicarage is a great setting for cosy crime. Interesting cast of characters introduced that complements the returning ones quite well - and the mystery was really interesting too. Will def pick up the third once it comes out!
