Something didn’t sit right with me in this book. It is carefully crafted but maybe a little too crafted. It feels like there are essential parts missing. These are the stories he wants to tell but they are not the whole story. It has a nice arch in the first half after which it descends into separate anecdotes and it becomes more of a name dropping exercise. All nice stories but just a meh.
Great memoir. I’ve always been a fan of Dave and his music, but his writing about his relationships and his outlook on his life made me an even bigger fan.
I couldn't get through it. It really dragged for me.

I loved Dave Grohl before and I love him even more now! I waited for this book from the library and after 2 chapters I said fuck it and bought the audiobook and listened to it straight through! He’s so genuine, heartfelt and happy, it’s hard not to love him.
