Wow, Leah Johnson. I don’t know how you managed to wrap so many difficult topics into just 320 pages and yet keep the romance between Toni and Olivia sweet and wholesome, but you did it! 🎡🎶🎸

It doesn't get more iconic, beautiful, tender, funny, loving, and thoughtful. Leah Johnson, an icon, has done it again. If you need a place to escape during this pandemic, look no further than RISE TO THE SUN.

didn’t hit the same way as you should see me in a crown sadly

very instalove, like they were crushing on each other HARD after a few hours. the whole book only lasted three days so you’d think they would have time to flesh out a plot and a connection but still felt rushed

i feel like both characters trauma was handled kinda poorly as well? like basically the moral of the book was revenge porn and mass shootings are bad.. but with no substance

i kept falling asleep when i was listening to this audiobook so tbh the middles kinda a blur. i really loved olivia, she felt so real. i just wasn’t very invested, i couldn’t get into the whole music festival thing, but i like olivia and toni’s relationship, it felt realistic

I read the reviews before reading this and was like ‘hmmm I wonder if these reviews just make it seem like it’s insta love’ and I
should’ve listened. I should’ve known it would 100000000% be insta love. I do not usually like insta love and lord this WAS EXACTLY insta love I don’t like. You’ve known each other for 3 FUCKING DAYS CHILL OUT
