Why does it seem like nothing happens in these books. You get a tiny plot line you want to follow, which keeps me reading. But I am unsure about it the whole time. Then there is a big enough plot twist at the end. And now I am annoyed that I feel like I need to read the next book. Just like Zodiac Academy. But I keep reading. Grammatical errors drive me crazy. The same small situation is relived from multiple perspectives, and then the big situation happens too fast. I feel like 3 books could be edited into 1 fantastic book. An editor is desperately needed for these authors. But again, I keep reading. And they stay a solid 3 stars for me.
More character building is desperately needed. We are consistently stuck on one side of them, which gets repetitive. There has to be more feelings in these characters than lust. It starts out making you believe you are going to read the spiciest of books. But nothing ever really happens, they just think about it. But it isn't slow burn in the sense that you are desperately waiting for it to happen, either. You know it will, because that is the only emotion these characters seem to have.

This book was a nonstop rollercoaster of surprises and action. I fell in love with Elle and her courageous attitude. Definitely a kick butt and take names kinda girl. Reallt enjoyed the four bad guys and their inner softness under a layer of hot danger. "I voluntarily received this book for an honest review”

I’m so confused what the purpose of this book is… it’s not smut because even tho Elise flirts a lot, there’s only one actual sex scene. And it’s def not for the plot. I could drive a truck through the plot holes in this story. Spoilers ahead: she did a job to get a list of killblaze dealers and never even looked at the list!! She’s there to find her brother’s killer and has exactly ONE investigative conversation. The rest of the book is just her flirting with different people, all of whom she suspects could have killed her brother? Come on. And she doesn’t even find the killer! I’m not gonna read a whole series of nonsmut nonplot. And the writing! “I shot away with my vampire speed.” You don’t have to clarify that she’s a vampire every time you describe her powers. It’s self explanatory. And constantly referring to skin as flesh was eyeroll inducing. Why was every love interest in this book written like he’s god’s gift to women? Not a shred of humility between the lot of them. They were all repulsive. I have never been so annoyed by a book before. I’m giving it two stars because at least the flirting was kind of fun.
