A very inspirational read. A little disappointed in how short the book is. I wish the author spent more time talking about the inventions part of her life. There's a lot of emphasis on the acting and personal life. But I guess this book is more about who she was as a person than what she did. Regardless, I really enjoyed it.

Really interesting read. I like novelization of real people, but am never sure how much weight to put on the facts presented. Writing itself isn’t outstanding and some characters are pretty flat (e.g., Mandl). Worth a read, but I wish. I hadn’t paid money for it.

Cool to learn more about Hedy Lamarr. Writing felt rushed and meh at times and the ending felt unfinished. Great story though!

DNF 27% I also tried reading The Mystery of Mrs. Christie and got equally as far, but both times Marie Benedict’s writing feels like she just read the Wikipedia page about these famous women and then tried to write historical fiction about them in the first person. She has a very forced, unnatural way of feeding the reader the biographical information without a sense of really bringing the celebrity to life. She also makes the narrators annoyingly naive-sounding instead of strong heroines.
