I do love this tale of how generosity and sharing can make people happy.
I love Muth but these are not my favorite illustrations of his, although I did really like the cat.
It’s also not my very favorite version of the story, but I did enjoy it.

This is a re-telling of the traditional Stone Soup tale. Muth took the story and changed the setting to China. As in most of his books, he uses an author's note to explain exactly how the story came to be and adds a bit of information about the cultural aspects. Great addition to our collection of Stone Soup stories.
I've heard this story before, and I'm not sure this is my favorite version, though it is a fine one.
Out of all the versions I’ve read so far, this one is my favorite. The artwork is beautiful and the real message is delivered at the end in a lovely way.
A gorgeous retelling of the traditional folktale, set in the Far East instead of Europe. So much symbolism in both words and images. Definitely my favorite version of this story.
Boring. I don't understand why this is even a book. I don't get how a child would be interested in this.
I've read several versions of Stone Soup and this is my favorite!
