This is, without a doubt, the best volume so far. I loved, loved, LOVED the drama and the interactions between Futaro and the girls. Miku's revelation was sweet and showed significant growth, while Yotsuba's enthusiasm and cheeriness lifted even the darkest moments. And my goodness, the two page spreads in this volume were AMAZING! Nino's invitation to "Kintaro" is easily my favorite, but Ichika's reaction to being held by Futaro was simple yet adorable. The artwork as a whole was stellar and each emotion was portrayed perfectly for the context of the scene. I will same I biased, though, cuz their pouty faces are my faves so far.

While this whole volume was one misunderstanding after another, I had a lot of fun reading it. I'm looking forward to finally getting some backstory on Futaro and learning which quintuplet is his mystery crush.

This series is entertaining, but it would actually be good if futaro was someone else or if the premise was switched to just one of the sisters liking him. I can't buy that any of them would fall for him he's just so bland. I swear the creator has some incest kink or something cause half the chapter covers are very uncomfortable.

Overview

I like the fun facts about the quintuplets in the beginning and how they change each time.
The hot springs scene was unnecessarily gratuitous, especially considering they’re high school students. The wedding preview at the end (which hadn't been alluded to since what feels like the first volume) didn't really make me anticipate on the edge of my seat like the creator probably wanted. At least Raiha's idiot hair (which is literally what ahoge translates to) finally looks natural on her older self. I feel like it can't be Yotsuba, since I would think she would be grinning from ear to ear instead of that silently happy smile. I can't eliminate any of the others just yet though.

Let’s organize the quintuplets in the one I like most to the one I like least. Futaro goes first but that doesn’t mean I like him. It’s just because he’s the main character and I honestly feel nothing towards him except disdain when he’s being a jerk.

Futaro

Why on earth would the quintuplets think Futaro might do anything untoward towards them while in the inn? I get the initial fear, but I don’t think he’d risk getting fired from such a sweet job for that. Also I thought he slept with his eyes open? I guess it was just used for the gag and the creator just completely forgot about it. Plot device Raiha came in handy with that good luck bracelet. But you don’t HAVE to dance with Ichika—you know that, right? You don’t owe anything to that thug. I guess it was kind of sweet to see Maeda at the wedding though but still.

Miku

Aww, a hedgehog as her favorite animal suits her. I felt so bad for her the whole volume.
I feel like she's too timid to be the final girl, so I hope she comes out of her shell. That scene in the igloo--! I was proud of her at the end for rejecting the toxic mindset of "we all have to be equal," even though she offered to share Futaro at the bonfire (her progress is slow, but it's still progress). She's too good for Futaro.

Yotsuba

I love her little bandage ribbons and her casually insulting Futaro and his dead eyes. Also, not all boys are strong, Yotsuba, and not all girls are as strong as you. She gives more friend vibes than future wife vibes. I wish she would finally get some more character development than just ditzy and friendly.

Itsuki

To be fair to Itsuki, I’d probably pee my pants too if Futaro jump scared me like that. I would never have seen an aerial attack coming! I feel like she's the most probable final girl, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I didn't know why she pretended to be Ichika, though. Her sisters didn't seem like the type to make fun of her.

Nino

Not the middle finger! I guess she’s really serious about cooking, huh. And Nino, you honestly don’t want to date a bad boy, even if he’s a pretend bad boy. It’s kind of strange to see how differently she treats “Kintaro-kun” and Futaro and made me feel kind of bad that Futaro was leading her on. I’m sorry, but how did you not see the gaping cliff?

Ichika

At least she didn't know about the tradition, or else I would've been real upset with her. But out of all people, why did she have to be the one locked in the shed with Futaro? Also: not the thigh cushion. She better back off though. I like Miku, but to be honest I want any quintuplet but her to end up with Futaro.

There has been quite a bit of story movement in this one, more of the past slowly coming to to front as well as the releasionships growing.

Miku had quite the development in this one and I'm all for it!
