It might be short read but at the same time it teaches the lesson of life. Event if it's a children's book I enjoyed it very much.

It's based on greed, innocence, obsession and relations
It touches so many different topics in innocence of childhood.
Must read.

I loved this! It is my first book by Ruskin Bond and I will definitly read more.
He paints a really nice picture of rural India and all the social aspects.
I listened to the audiobook and the narator was lovely, a warm voice and the accent was a perfect match for me.

Such an adorable story

'The umbrella was like a flower, a great blue flower that had sprung up on the dry brown hillside.'

The Blue Umbrella is a short story capturing the lives of people in the village of Garhwal. It is centered around being selfless and forgiving. The descriptions of the beauty of nature and mountains is so refreshing. Yes, children can be surprisingly kind and compassionate while adults may fail. I love coming across novels like this with simple moral and life lessons. This book teaches empathy, humanity and kindness and is a suitable book for children.

I loved this book and am looking forward to reading other works by Ruskin Bond.

Overall, this little treasure is a story of redemption and forgiveness and a kind of book that can get you out of reading slump.

Read this to my daughter and she loved it. Ofcourse, I enjoyed it too.

An eternal childhood favourite.
