Mister Impossible Is fantastic sequel full of exciting action and themes of Identity and personhood and family.

I'll be honest here, I wasn't planning on reading this. Between schoolwork, shitty mental health and just losing interest over time, I thought i wouldn't even enjoy it. I was wrong.

First off, I  was a mess of impressed and emotional the whole time I was reading this, hell I hardly put it down. The prose was electric, Stiefvater perfectly balanced the mix of new and old images in this book, There were many call backs to The Raven Cycle in the imagery related to Ronan and they felt so organic in the context of Ronan's arc and mental state throughout the book.

Everything I mentioned wanting in my review of Call Down the Hawk happened, and happened well. Matthew's struggle with an existential crisis/depersonalisation was so well done, from his brain fog and his resentment(?) towards the brothers hiding his truth from him. his arc was concluded satisfyingly well.

Jordan's own character development was not shunted to the side for Declan's, as i feared in my CDTH review. I liked the overlapping and polar opposite desires of wanting more of Hennessy's memories and wanting to be a completely separate woman, they both made excellent motivations for her character, especially side by side.

there was more i liked and didn't like but i'll add them later if i can figure out how to voice them properly.
