I already read this book a year ago and Theo remains one of the best book boyfriends so I just had to read it again

This book was pure fun. I loved the society building . The world is close to earth but different enough to make me super curious.

Jade started off properly befuddled from being abducted and shipped across the galaxy. But she’s strong and smart enough to get herself out of a jam and into a marriage with an alien. She chooses based on her human dispositions and lets just say it works for her.

Theo, oh misguided hurt Theo. He’s a big scary insecure warrior alien who wants to be held and told he’s pretty just like the rest of us. He starts off as a real ass hat but eventually figures it out and once he does, boy howdy, he makes up for it.

This is the first book in the series so there was a lot of set up and world/culture building but It’s a ton of fun to learn about the Clecanians. The characters we met are fantastic and I can’t wait to learn more about them.

The spice is fun and sometimes primal but the chemistry between Theo and jade is scorching!!! Alien spice, who knew? But I”m here for it!

lol this was bad. It wasn't like bad bad but also just not good at all and I don't get the reviews talking about how interesting the characters are. Their personality is horny. Which is fine for a smutty book, there just wasn't that much smut either. Felt like not a lot happened in this book.
Also so tired of the big, posessive alpha male trope. Can't a guy just be average sized, with an average sized schlong and average sized wealth, and also not be a dick who chokes their partner without consent?
Also "mates", barf. Why is it even a popular book trope for characters to be mated.
