The story of a man deciding to go off the grid and get away from civilian life and into the Alaskan wilderness after an accident takes the lives of three people. He needs to find a way to live with his survival guilt and living in seclusion is the way he feels will most effectively accomplish that.
A fiery bush pilot is his only connection to humanity but she is determined to keep her distance and maintain her focus on running her business and keeping the airport that she inherited from her father afloat. This romance takes a thrilling turn when the two of them give into their attraction and she lets her guard down. Will the two of them make it out alive or will the Alaskan wilderness provide more challenges than they can successfully weather together.
I really enjoyed this book; it was grittier and darker than I may have initially anticipated as I wasn’t prepared for the suspense aspect of the romance when I began the book. I loved the surviving the wilderness moments that we got to see and the seclusion that comes with living off the grid in a cabin in the woods. I also enjoyed seeing the struggles our heroine faced as a women trying to work in the masculine world of bush pilots in Alaska and the struggles she was facing in the city.
