WOW! I don't know how to rate this book...

I was appalled at the beginning, and if I hadn't already read (and enjoyed) 2 books by this author, I would've quit it. But I encouraged myself to trust the author and soldier on. Then it finally started getting toward somewhere good, and Kindle said I had an hour and 15 minutes left, and suddenly I'm at the recipes in the back! I feel totally let down. There were a bunch of things I was waiting for / expecting to happen, and they were teased but never got there. Ugh. I'm disappointed.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. It was a good, light, fluffy read after reading some pretty heavy books lately. The ending was very abrupt. But I liked the story.

Read while on vacation in bar harbor. It was enjoyable to read with A good story and I liked the character development. I didn't want the story to end!

Way too much cooking and the ending seemed rushed but didn’t actively hate it.

Continuing to read good books with bad titles. This title comes from a Maine slogan, and despite the cover, nothing is summery about it. Nothing earth shattering, but an entertaining story.

1st part = 1.5 stars. 2nd part = 3 .5 stars. Started out as silly nonsense with a woman making ludicrous choices. The second part was sweet and satisfying. I loved the cooking scenes and the way food and traditions connect generations.
