i will not be continuing this series lol. i had the book on kindle but I listened to the audiobook. that may have been a mistake because I was confused at some point. it was hard to differentiate between actual dialogue and thoughts, and the different POV shifts seemed to just come out of nowhere. i don't know if it would have been better if i had read the physical book.

anyway. if i had to say one thing about this book it would be this: this girl needs some serious therapy. i feel like if everyone you know (including a kid) is telling you the same thing, maybe you should listen? i don't know, just a thought. alexa was the only character i didn't like (besides the villains) and she was the main character; and i get the feeling we're supposed to like her. i felt so bad for stuart (or whatever his name was). he really didn't deserve all of that.

i also feel like alexa was way too quick to call misogyny. like probably half of the times that she got weird looks from the other cops/agent was because she was doing something insane and not just because she was a woman. like maybe it's just you who is giving them pause and not women in general.

anywho the plot itself wasn't overly compelling to me. i missed so much of the book/info because i would just zone out or get distracted by something. even during the whole big fight at the end of the book. like i was not engaged in that at all. did not retain a single detail of it. it was boring to me to be honest.

everytime she opened her mouth i rolled my eyes. if i hadn't been listening to the audiobook then i wouldn't have made it to the end i don't think.

she needs to get therapy. OH. that comment about getting a little dose of real life was better than therapy? absolutely terrible thing to say. no it's not. go to therapy PLEASE.

Gripping and entertaining!
The story is horrifying as to human nature, but also quite real.
I want to know what else comes in this detective's life!

“There are three types of people- the weak, the strong, and those who think they’re the other. The weak need to become strong and the strong will be revealed as weak. A weak person must strengthen themselves otherwise they’ll be weak.” - basically Drake Logan’s life philosophy

This book was cheesy and was such copaganda

Nothing that special but it was fast paced and easy to understand. I agree with some of the reviews here that it can quiet get very repeating and was kind of predictinlem but maybe that's what's so special about it. We the readers expect a plot twist but we didn't get that this jot predictible. I just enjoyed the part of getting to the end other than the end cause you'll eventually have some idea of the ending but not a lot of times on how they get there.
