HOLY CRAP that was awesome! A girl, going in a house that she understands, a haunted house.. but how much does she really know about the house? How innocent is this house? We as the reader are not just following Ami, but also Buzz. And through him we see that the house is definitely a baddie. Something hungry. Something evil. Something possessed. And that with Ami's help things have gone even scarier. There were some gory bits, some weird bits (people transforming and battles and the likes), some scary bits, but in overall I really loved this one. It is just what I am in the mood for. Something strange and scary. And the art? AWESOME. I love the style.

The pitch on this was the Shining meets Power Rangers and hot dang but there is a straight-up Goldar style character design in the first 50-odd pages and I love it

totally reading again!!! this first volume is confusing, dramatic, and hits me right in the heart. it is about a teenage punk (ami), and her friends and rivals (some are both things at the same time). she kind of gets "chosen"? eaten? by a haunted house, befriends it, and works to bring all of its missing pieces home-its ghosts. on the way tragedies occur, including the death of a rival band. there is a lot of gerard ways writing style in this, but with stronger world building. the emotionnnn though, shines through so clearly that i just have to make this a favorite.

I love being taken along for the ride and comics do that beautifully. Sure, there were a -lot- of different elements thrown in but I’m excited to see where it goes. Colour use is banging, artwork in general is gorgeous and I’m pumped to see what comes next
