It's been a long time since I read it, but I remember it was a pretty good story. One character has the ability to cause an awful lot of destruction with seemingly very little effort - the times when he does are the best parts of the book.

I'm probably giving this more stars than it deserves out of nostalgia. I have an interesting history with this series. When I was in elementary school, I saw this book in the library and was intrigued enough to check it out. I liked it enough to read the second one. But, tragedy of tragedies, the library didn't have the third book, and I didn't know about interlibrary loan at the time, so I was doomed to never know how the story ends.

Flash forward a couple decades, and I still had vivid memories from this book. Nothing so much as I could tell you what happened really, but I remembered very specific scenes. I discovered my current library had the full trilogy, so I thought now is the time to finish the series!!

While reading, I would remember things as they were happening (which is a weird feeling). The characters are well-developed and interesting, and I had a good time on this sci fi adventure. It requires A LOT of suspension of disbelief, which is saying something, coming from me. I am generally the first person to just say, "that's just how this world works," when people complain about unbelievability, but this series requires a heck of a lot of that. If you're able to just roll with it...it's not a bad time. :)

Extra Book #29... not for the EBN Challenge.

6 kids with mystical powers that debilitate them and make them scary to those around them.
What does it all mean? What caused it? Where do they go and why do they feel this overwhelming urge to find each other?

This was a pretty interesting book and I think a good start to a good series.

I haven't rated a book 5 stars in a long time! This one was just great! Action-packed with a lot of twists and turns. This one reminded me a lot of his other series', Everlost and Unwind.
Once again his writing style and description was spectacular. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!
My favourite character was Tory because she's determined and always tells the truth.
One thing that surprised me about this book was that Deanna actually
Spoilerleft Dillon when she said she was going to. I thought she'd be too attracted to him to be able to let go, but she did, which I loved.

I recommend this book to everyone!

This series is one of my all-time favorites; the first book has a lot of stuff that’s sort of goofy and weak but Dillon’s arc across it is amazing and sets up the REALLY good stuff. I probably have read this six or seven times.

It wasn't horrible at all, i found all the tropes and characters i loved in fantasy/sci fi when i was a kid, and i still appreciate them.
The book is just too damn short, and tho the story moving really fast isn't inherently bad, it led to some lazy writing and honestly i felt like i was thrown into the book and it ended as fast.

It got a little bit better in the end but i dont know there was no build up, everything seamed too easy and the characters were not memorable.
