This book is a love letter to anyone and everyone who’s ever experienced the dysphoria of being their true self in a world of false egos.
challenging reflective

This was a wonderful way to cap my all-queer-books-for-pride-month journey.

I really liked Gibson's writing as a whole. Some of the poems were stronger than others for me, but that always happens in a collection. "Climate Change" was excellent, but there were fantastic lines and turns of phrase from so many of their poems.

To make up for lost time, you need
only to put down the grudge
you are holding so you can pick up

the phone and say, How many days
did we need each other at the same time
without knowing it?

The world has been a LOT lately, so I'm more emotional than usual. But this slender volume of poetry made me cry several times, in the most beautiful way.
Gibson's poetry is so full of *compassion*, for people--as a whole and individually--for the planet, and for herself. She loves enough to embrace our flaws and imperfections, and still find the love.
The language is plainer and more direct than much of the poetry I enjoy, and that's a strength.
This is a new favorite. I needed it.

If was close to loving poetry, finally,
this book pushed me over the edge.

You must read it now!
