I debated before the conflict at the very end if this was going to be a five star read. The plot twist around the 200 page mark had me baffled. The only minor gripe was that the last conflict was resolved very quickly. Overall, such a fantastic read. Can't wait to read more about Briar and Alexander.

“You saved me, Aria. Every day with you, life is easier and lighter than I’ve ever had.”

"You and I are like damaged princesses, riding off into the sunset with our brooding knights, leaving scars and death in our wakes. We’re like fairy tales for the dark web.”

This book was great! I wasn’t expecting the twist at the end. It’s the perfect relationship between two toxic characters that love each other.

3.5 rounded up for the storytelling.

What did I just read? Aria and Brand have so many ISSUES, loads of steam, but a lake full of drama. This is a dark and weird story. I don’t know how I actually feel about it…

You need to read this book immediately. Drop whatever you are reading now and read this instead. It’s that good. You won’t regret it.

I love Brynn Asher’s style in writing. She doesn’t bother with a bunch of contrived angst and it’s so refreshing to read a romance like that. The twist in this book knocked me on my tail. I didn’t see it coming at all.

Read this book, immediately.

Ok just wow I was hooked from the beginning I
Was not expecting the plot twist. The subject matter was dark but the author handed it amazing.

I'm a huge fan of psychological thrillers with or without romance. But here's the thing, if you categorize your book as a psychological thriller, don't be surprised if you draw readers who expect that. I feel duped. This was a romance with a side serving of suspense, at best. It's a huge stretch to call it a psychological thriller.

Whatever this is, both MCs lacked depth and consistency. The plot? Well, lets just say it was nothing like I was expecting and fell short of it's promise.

Deathly was one of my favorite reads this year. It was full of passion, obsession, love, life and death. This romance had some dark vibes with a possessive dangerous and dirty hero and a Heroine who wants to save the world with how much she cares instantaneously and with her whole body.

Brand and Aria connected from their very start and were hooked on one another in possibly a borderline unhealthy obsession but in the best romantic way haha. I mean if you don’t have a guy that looks at you or looks out for you like Brand Vitale, what’s the point? There are some damaged pasts and secrets but when they come together they’re so passionate and combustible, good thing one of them is a firefighter.

What you think you know and what you think is happening ... is probably wrong. There was a complete twist that I didn’t see coming but I loved that so much! I usually can guess a plot twist or the mystery but this one I honestly didn’t see coming and I’m still thinking about how well that plot twist was written. The clues were there while you’re reading but I just thought it was pointing to something else. Well done! I was so impressed by it and it was my favorite plot twist ever.

I definitely recommend reading this book if you love an obsessed Hero and Heroine, firefighters, a beautiful dedicated psychiatrist, rescued puppies, maybe some dark mafia connections, and so much tension and steam you’ll need a body of water to cool off in.
