miss emily girl you so crazyyyyyy why would you write “the entire world is a dreadful collection of memoranda that she did exist and that i have lost her”
I first read this when I was about 14; it was a book that my friends and I passed around in the summer for entertainment reading--just goes to show how times have changed. It holds up well; I don't like it nearly as much as Jane Eyre, but there's a lot to think and talk about.

I like reading classics but I don’t really get the appeal of this one. People who live to make each other miserable. Breaking out of your proper social class leads to misery for everyone involved. Am I missing some redeeming quality?

Where to begin? Wuthering heights is a fever dream. Both during and after reading I was left questioning out loud, what have I just read?! I have found myself delaying writing this review because on the one hand, who am I to critique Emily Brontë and such a beloved classic, but on the other hand was this book just lost on me? I started off completely gripped and loved the narration within a narration format, and then it all just went… strange. How are people seemingly dropping dead of an argument? Why do I not like ANY of the characters? How in the hell has this ever been portrayed as a love story? What is going on??!!!!!This review is full of questions, and that is all this novel left me with. Perhaps I need to read it again as I have been left bamboozled by Ms Brontë.
