I really enjoy the world that’s being created in this story! As a whole it reminds me a lot of “Delicious in Dungeon”, just set in the skies.

what if there was a version of Moby Dick where Ishmael was really obsessed with eating whales.

there are two things to know about this manga:

1) i'm obsessed with the art, every panel blows my mind.
2) reading it makes me hungry lol what can i say, the food looks really tasty!

Great artwork. Not much for plot.

Amazing artwork depicting an amazing imaginative world of dragon hunting. Unfortunately, the story leaves much to be desired. What’s at stake?

This is a great manga if you just want some fun action and amazing art. The story isn’t deep at all, and it’s very episodic so there isn’t much through-line. It isn’t stilted, but there isn’t much to hold on to. I think the idea is that you eventually get to know all of the crew members pretty deeply, which is nice, and we do get some of that in this volume. The trouble is, I have very little stake in these characters and none of them get significant development beyond baseline character traits, except for Vanabelle, who really ought to be the main character. Mika isn’t an interesting character at all, but he is a badass and his character design is cool. So if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the right manga for you!
