“She had told herself that it was some trick of his, making people like him. But she now knew that most people liked George Allen because of his generous heart.”⁣

This was a super sweet Mormon romance. I am not Mormon (I’m an atheist actually) but I have Mormon family and friends and it was fun to read this story that heavily featured Mormon characters and Mormon culture without being proselytizing or cringy.

⁣I loved how the author leaves footnotes after each chapter explaining aspects of her religion with no defensiveness and no haughtiness, just facts tinged with humor. ⁣

The romance was filled with angst, miscommunication, and young adult drama. At times I hated George and loved him. At times I hated Adelaide and loved her. But I did love them together. I also enjoyed how so many others could see how they felt about each other before they did. A meddling community is sometimes the best community. ⁣

All in all this was a fun, light, romantic, angsty, escape of a book.
