Jack's relationship with his mother is shown to be incredibly close, and yet he refuses to talk to her about the threatening messages that Pinky is sending. What becomes 300 pages of elaborate schemes to catch this stalker could have been ended within 50 pages if Jack had just talked to this mother, and as a reader, I am given no reason to believe that Jack's mother wouldn't have immediately supported him and done everything in her power to keep him safe. The only reason he doesn't tell her, it appears, is that there would be no plot otherwise.
I can't fault the book for the sex advice that it seamlessly relates to the reader via Jack's column in Jenna's blog, or for the interesting characters that Jack talks to and reflects on (especially Jeremy, he's a great addition). But it felt borderline "idiot plot" to me, and so has definitely suffered a downgrade in my view of it, personally. Not a bad book at all, but if you are bothered by inconsistent book logic, this will probably irk you too.

This book is not a romance (there is no romantic relationship for the main character). This book is not a lighthearted teen rom-com, despite what the cover/blurbs suggests.booksandharps's review against another edition
