I liked it, but was not super excited that their story was spread into two books. But i did really like it!

I’ve made a concerted effort to re-read books and series over the last year. I’ve had one incident of a five-star, favorite-shelf book barely weighing in at three stars years later, and this is my second downgrade. I’ve read the More Than...series and am admittedly fonder of the Prestons more. Book 4 is my favorite here.

I’m outside the target demographic, and what drew me in was the fish-out-of-water situation Kayla found herself in, and the create-your-own-family friendships. Book 1 was padded with a bit too much angst between Jake and Micky, but I felt it was almost off the charts this time. I read 2 and 3 together in the first read, but I need a break this time.

Logan and Amanda have an amazing meet-cute and first date, and then he doesn’t call her, she throws her romantic life away as a result, meets with tragedy as a result of those breadcrumbs, Logan comes back, wants her again, because he’s been practically stalking her for a year, spending his time sitting in bookstores on the off chance she wanders in, despite not knowing her last name or trying to find her on social media, then gets her back, but finds out he’s bad for her and throws her away again, and then gets her back, but she throws him away this time, I think, and he goes to her house and wins her back, but then tragedy strikes again and he throws her away again. When they are together, he does the Jake thing from the last book and calls everyone who walks within three feet of her an asshole, to their face.

Love the author, love the overall series, and there are small moments in here that are absolutely top notch, but there’s too much melodrama and unnecessary angst.

I completely adored More Than This, it was one of my favorites of 2013, but let me just say that More Than Her was amazing! I started reading, and just couldn't put it down! It was a 5 star book, but that ending was just sooooo mean, like seriously spring 2014?! I'm dying here! So because I'm in a love/hate relationship with that ending I'm giving 4 stars, but everyone should read it like now, because Logan is that good!

Well, this book didn't disappoint. I didn't think the series could keep getting better but it does and I each couple has their own HEA after all the drama and chaos that they overcome together. The characters are growing within each book and the relationships that are being created just make the book that more of an emotional rollercoaster.

*Note: This is the second story in a series. It can be read as a standalone, but would be better if you read book one, More Than This, first.

Gah! That ending!! I need to get this written so I can go and read More Than Him asap! I must find out what happens next!

More Than Her is the first part of the story of Logan and Amanda. You get hints that something happened between the two of them, but Logan blew it and now Amanda doesn't trust him. I was really curious to see what happened, why did Logan stop trying to be with her back when whatever happened and will he be able to make it up to her? Can he convince her to trust him again and give them another chance? Oh I loved it.

When it was revealed what happened, what their history was, it was not what I was expecting. To have what happened happen and then nothing was kind of nice. It showed how strong their connection was even if Logan messed up at the time. Really he has not had the best early life, but he has a great dad now who is amazing with him. Who kind of makes up for his past, but a past like his does not always go away so easily.

I really liked Logan. He messes up often and he knows it, but he always tries to fix it. Getting to know him and see what he is really like was wonderful. He likes to joke around and make light of situations, but he can be much deeper. I loved how once he realized what he did and why he wanted to fix things. He wanted Amanda to forgive him and give him another chance. Another chance to prove how amazing they can be together and that he is a good guy. He is someone she can trust.

Amanda was a sweetheart. She sees Logan for who he is and how he is a great guy. She knows this, but it takes a bit before she is able to gamble her heart again. I loved how she tried to be so strong and not going to go there again with him, but she can't keep up her walls when he is just so sweet and kind and perfect for her. I loved this story. I loved watching these two fall even more for each other and learn their shared history. It was hard at first, with Logan so messed up, but he knows what and who he needs in his life. I loved the characters so much I just wanted everything good for both of them. They definitely deserve it.

Unfortunately things are not all sunshine and roses. I don't want to spoil anything but something that annoyed me in the first book in this series pops up again and was a bit lame, but made what happened in book one not as bad. But because of what is going on some of Logan's past comes back to haunt him and oh I hurt for him. That ending was killer. I need to see what happens next! I know it will probably get worse before it gets better, but I am ready for it now. Man. I understand what happened and why Logan does what he does, but that doesn't make it any less painful to read. I love when you are so invested in characters that any bad things that happen you take personally. I love feeling so much for them and wanting the best for them. I am kind of dreading the next book because I think it will be heartbreaking, but I also can't wait to see what happens. This was such a great read. Definitely a step up for me from book one. Now off to see what happens next in the story of Logan and Amanda.

I wasn't ready to move away from Mikayla and Jake in the last book. I was secretly hoping this book was about them! I was so into that story and wasn't ready to leave because Jay McLean can write, let me tell you.

I was entertained by Logan in the last book and was like, "heck, let's just read this because the first book was so good" HA! I was in absolutely no way prepared for the incredible journey and heartbreak that was Logan and Amanda. Seriously, these books are raw, deep, touching and just something beyond my novice attempt at doing it justice in a review.

I rarely make noises when I read, but I did with this book. I gasped (not the clutch your pearls "this is getting good" gasp either), I cried and it was the ugly cry. I giggled a bit too. I'm so in love with the characters in this series, but Jay McLean...you're in my top 5 favorite authors now and we're only two books in! Let's go read about the odd couple!

"Also," Lucy continued, "this girl in one of my classes keeps wanting me to warn you that her brother is after you."

I rolled my eyes, "What girl? What do you tell her?"

"I tell her to fuck off. And that she needs to learn to control her hormones. Get it, Logan? WHORE-MOANS? Oh my god. I'm so fucking funny!"

Lucy is EVERYTHING

So I would like to start off by saying I totally have a love/hate relationship with Logan Matthews!!! I wanted to smack him, kiss him, strangle him, hump his leg... it could have gone either way!

He was just so frustrating and then he would be sweet and then he would turn around again and I freaking had whiplash reading this book. It was like everything was fine and dandy and then he would close himself off and BAM shit would hit the fan again...

When I read More Than This, I loved Logan's character so I was more than a little excited to read his story but now I feel kind of cheated, like Jay McLean got me so close to climax just to rip it away and I don't know whether to cunt punch her twat or kiss her face for making me so invested in these character's lives. But I can't really give a full review because the book didn't end how I wanted it too, so I am left wondering, should I say I love the book but hated the ending? Hated the book because of the ending or fall somewhere in-between until I can read the rest of the story??

I. Don't. Know...

But I will say that I really enjoyed this book. I was sucked in from the very beginning and it got better, then worse, then better, then worse, and finally left on an explosive ending that left me whiplashed and angry because I had to wait for more. But the fact that I was left wanting more at all is something that has to be taken into consideration. Because my God I want more... NEED more and just have to find out where this story is going to go!!!

I laughed, I got teary-eyed, I was horny and wanting the characters to just rip their clothes off then when they finally got busy, I sat back and enjoyed it with them ;)...

After getting over the initial impact of that ending I finally decided that this book deserves to be read. Logan's story deserves to be experienced and loved and cherished and have everyone experience the whiplash effect that happened to me.

SO, overall I give this book a 4.5/5 and I am really looking forward to finding out what is going to happen because I have a feeling Jay McLean is not done giving all of us whiplash... I have a feeling about what happened and what is going to happen and I don't know if I want to be right or not... we shall see!!

I read this today and to my surprise I actually kinda loved it. Book one was somewhat disappointing and it still feels like a baby author who wrote this at times but the writing has improved much from the first book. There’s just so much going on in this book it’s sometimes hard to keep track but overall it was and easy and fun read. Also the hotness was not lacking in this book

I loved the plot twists. But at some places I felt like punching Amanda and Logan, both! As in really punch them! The giving-each-a-black-eye kinda punch.

And book 2, seriously?! It's way too much of the drama already. But I can't wait to know how would it end. *sigh*
