Diem is determined to hate Luther so literally anything he does she will cast in a negative light. That is the basic premise of this second book.
We can see Diem growing in this book but she is having to be dragged kicking and screaming to growth. She is even still holding on to literal losers (cough cough, Henri, cough) just because they remind her of who she use to be.
Aside from that, the found family is great. What a fun group. I like that we see more of Teller in this book. He is awesome. I wish Diem confided in him more.
During the challenging Teller tried to tell Diem something and she wouldn’t listen to him and kept cutting him off. Then he left without saying what he wanted to say. I wish he would’ve yelled, “stfu a moment!” And told her. Then later, we see Aurelie and someone is trying to tell her something and she keeps interrupting them. This time the exchange just annoyed me. I low key dislike Aurelie. She kinda sucks.
I am not looking forward to spending more time with her in the next book. But I am excited to see Diem and Luther not as enemies. If she is mean to him again I swear I’m going to riot.

Solid second book in the series

No one is more upset than me.

I so desperately wanted to enjoy this but I just can't wait our main character. She has got to be the most frustrating female character in the history of characters. I keep waiting for some character development but nada.

The concept, world-building, male MC and other characters have so much potential, but I can't push past this.

The second entry had more world-building and more action. Still gives YA, with the main character being quite oblivious at times. But it was fun.
