do yourself a favor and skip this one. I've read 4 books this year and this is the worst so far. awful characters, racism, absolutely no substance. you would get more out of a peanuts comic strip than this joke of a book.

Please kill me if I ever start acting this loyal to anyone just because they’re family.  This book premise was intriguing but Paul’s extensive backstory made my eyes glaze over and the current day chapters felt rushed through.

This book was so interesting. It’s one of those books where no one involved is a good person. And yet, based on the point of view you’re reading the book from, you still root for certain people over others and choose sides. This definitely made me think and reflect when I was done. There’s definitely some things that are said that made me a bit uncomfortable, but knowing who they were coming from and their mental state, it felt different. Definitely one you really have to think about.
