The story of Megan and Jaxon is full of ups and downs and I felt the same while reading it. Some of it I enjoyed, while other moments were mediocre. While advertised as an age gap romance, it was not a central to player in the conflict between the two. Overall, okay but not great.

the writing is a bit weird. the male lead sounds different in every conversation he’s in. could do with more editing imo.
emotional lighthearted medium-paced

A solid read! Age gap, surprise pregnancy, and some health/grief related issues. Nothing unexpected happened— solid read full of expected things in an age gap romance. There is some spice, in case that’s not your thing.

I love surprise pregnancy and while I can sympathize with the MMC he did not do enough groveling. This would have been 3 stars, but when I found out what they named the baby it lost a whole star.

whew…

This was a back and forth headache but not unrealistic. Definitely would pick this headache over book 1, in all personal opinions

i haven’t read the first two books but this one was pretty good. i feel like all the tropes weren’t fully developed for some reason. the age gap… never really came up except for the male main character talking about it. the pregnancy trope… only came up more than halfway towards the end of the book. the epilogue was ok but not as good as it could have been.
medium-paced

Megan is a good girl. Always has been. She jumped in and created a gorgeous piece of art to save her housemates boyfriend when the artist he’d commissioned for the project bailed. I mean she had plenty of time seeing as how empty her love life has been the last few years.
Opening night of the hotel comes and she meets charming silver fox Jaxon King. A man she is instantly attracted & drawn to. Only she’s not the only one…. When Jaxon wins a nights stay in the penthouse of the Hotel what do you think happens?
Yep cue Megan having the hottest night of her entire life. The only problem? Fox King completely ghosts her.
Since she’s so busy with work on this huge project her firm has been hired to do she’s at least got work to take things off of her mind. Until the meeting with the publishing company comes & who walks in? Oh yes Jaxon King owner of King Publishing and the man that cannot get Megan and the night they shared out of his head. He knows it’s dangerous being around Megan again but he couldn’t stay away any longer. The only problem? Jaxon wants Megan just as much as she wants him but he can’t give her the future she deserves so he pushes her away. (over & over & over to the point I kinda started wanting to punch him in the face)
When the unexpected happens for both Megan & Jaxon the trajectory of their entire lives will change. Will they be able to change together? Or will circumstances drive them apart?
.
Oh how I loved this book! Although Jaxon pissed me off quite a bit with his mixed signals/back & forth nonsense. He’s a good guy but things in his life are causing him to make the worst decisions ever. Megan is such a sweetheart and you just instantly fall in love with her. Oh and the friends? I’ve seen book girlfriends before but these girls are next level there for each other & supportive.
Absolutely loved this book!

Elle has done it again with this emotion packed, relatable story.

We hear from Megan and Jaxson’s perspective throughout the book. The characters and their friends and family are spectacular, I love Lydia, she is one of Megan’s best friends and her quick Witt is
