Jiddu krishnamurti explores many abstract concepts in this book, using very simple and concise language. He expresses that we shall evade societal norms and explore thing on our own, he even insists that don't follow me if you want to reach pure form of yourself. He advocates that there is no right way to love, hate, jealousy, mediation etc. According to him, our approach to above mentioned qualities can vary, according to nature of our personalities.
I like the way he he defines love. He asserts that we love our parents because we have memories together, this means we don't love our parents but those memories which are attach to them. Same is applicable to other relatives and relations e.g. wife, child, friend etc.
He states that when we lost our love one, we don't cry for them instead we cry for our memories that we form together. When we find alternative, with whom we can forms same memories, we forget our dead one. So, it's very clear we mourn for ourselves not for dead one. Same is true for hate and other human such conditions.
Moreover, he states that if we are to explore true nature of ourselves we shall not follow societal norms which we are following for thousands of years. If we do so, we chose another institute to avoid one. He declares that we can only truly reach our passion and true knowledge by following our inner self.
My Commentary: Krishnamurti says we shall follow our inner self to reach truth, but we are affected by our society and if we're influenced by the society then we are not purely following our interests and pursuing truth by ourselves. We're influenced by laws and norms of our society, so how can we truly appreciate ourselves when influence of society is there.

Due to its generally abstract nature, it’s not an “easy” book to digest.
However, I knew I would like this book from the very first page.
Something about the writing is so raw and real; it connects to every worry, every concern I have ruminated over these last few years regarding standing in conflict with societal (religious) norms and dogma.
The concept of exploding from the centre particularly resonated with me.
No seeking. Studying ourselves without authority and guidance from others. Freedom from authority. No fear of right or wrong because there is none. More energy. No fear of being alone.
Choiceless. Never taking sides.
The demand to repeat pleasure only brings pain.
No condemnation or justification. I just am.

Have the courage to learn, when you learn you grow. EVERYTHING is you, everything is YOU. Things in our reality exist through us, the abundance of our reality is through us, we are the channel. Are we even aware of that? Awareness is pure consciousness, releasing thoughts, and opening yourself to no thought. Anything matters because we make it matter, anybody matters because we make them matter. The meaning of something, a practice, a person, or a religion is done through us, not the thing itself. So that is why we must look within, with ease, and find out what matters to us, what are our values as individuals, and how we can move through our life experiences. Learn thoroughly, even when you find persons with the same interests as you, the important thing is that you learned came through you opening your mind to its concept. We can look within and hold value to the things we come up with, got any more questions? Ask again and move through life knowing with ease that you shall get answers to these questions. Everything is internal, everything. Work on yourself, every day you rise is another day to work on yourself, even when you go through the negative, you are working on yourself by recognizing you want something else for yourself. Also, acceptance is actually key in all this, seeing ourselves as a whole and not diminishing the "bad" parts is essential. Great work!

I think Krishnamurti wouldn't approve of this review.
For multiple reasons, one that I clearly mentioned thinking (instead of being) and the other being by reviewing it I am comparing it with multiple things from my past, and probably future.
I'm attaching my views and opinions to it when I should've just read it in a state of total awareness and freedom from any such burdens of continuity and comparisons.

I have been reading Krishnamurti for quite a few years. There is no way of pointing a magnum opus of his, for he always talks about the very same things and somehow manages to be ever fresh and non repetitive.
I wont go into the themes here. Justo go and dive into this book, absolutely life-changing if properly understood.

This book will startle, shock, accost and leave you terribly frustrated, but somehow - in a way only JK can do - will also allow for some profound insights to surface. JK shares no methods, protocols, belief systems or ways to pierce the veil of illusion. In fact, he emphatically states that by trying to see past the illusion of the "self" ....we are bound to never achieve transcendence. Striving itself is the problem!
What then, are we to do? Toil away in the human predicament? I guess so. However, in the way an open window will - on occasion - allow a breeze to flow in, by seeking to understand the nature of the self (and what it is NOT...thoughts, ideas, concepts, etc.) we can open the window of the self...and allow whatever deeper understanding is available about our true nature to come through if/when it does.
