Thank you to the author for sending me an early copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This review is very very very late because I realize I forgot to write it but!!! Here we are.

Admissible Affair is a messy, complex book, rich with depth and a good balance of plot and character development. If you're not afraid of a little controversy in your romance, you'll enjoy the characters' flaws and the intense emotions in this book. The writing is fantastic and I especially loved the audiobook narration!

Adrian J. Smith is one heck of a fantastic writer. I’ve been reading her books for years and I have to say, this book is probably her best one yet. The book began at a restaurant where the reader was given quite the glimpse into the tumultuous relationship between Bellamy and her wife Kendra. After Kendra left her at the restaurant Bellamy was given a ride home by her server, Payton. A quick tryst in the front seat of Payton’s car, the two parted ways thinking they’d never see one another again.

Months later, Payton was hired to work at a law firm, little did she know that Bellamy was a co-owner. The two continued to fight their attraction to one another while dealing with the drama filled Kendra.

This book was definitely a rollercoaster ride filled with moral dilemmas and unconscionable acts. Kendra was just an awful human being and just when I thought she couldn’t sink any lower, she would. Bellamy bided her time and stayed in the relationship for way longer than any normal person should have. Payton was mature and wise beyond her years and Bellamy was lucky to have Payton in her corner. I honestly couldn’t put this book down. Well don’t AJ!!

For me, the sign of a great LGBT novel is when the same sex relationship is made to seem the norm and isn’t simply a box ticking exercise, something to shock the reader or to provide relief from the main heterosexual relationship plot. Admissible Affair was a great LGBT novel. The characters were authentic and relatable (even the one you came to hate), you could empathise with their situations and motives. The characters largely had their lives sorted, except for the issues central to the plot, but these were approached with tact and the reader could clearly see the character development.

Tags for potential readers: lots of sex (and I mean lots) and sexual assault.

Listen! I am no fan of cheating but damn this book had me questioning things and rooting for people I to win that I wouldn’t typically root for.

From the first page I was uncertain how I felt about the main couple but as the book went on I started to forget there was even cheating and I wanted these two to be happy together.
