Ok ok ok I like Ali Hazelwood's writing, and I love reading about women in STEM academia. But the largeness of Levi was starting to grate on my nerves, and then the kitchen smutty scene just put me over the edge. My asexual ass could never.

Total P&P vibes with extra you’ve got mail  layer! Super steamy and super nerdy! Love the characters, especially the RA (who is basically April from parks and rec), the cats are a blast, and I LOVE that the science is legit!!!

Even though I didn’t understand most of the scientific references, the story was cute. Levi is my dream man (tall, smart, feminist, the list goes on) and unlike Bee, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with him. Also, I loved how much hatred toward generalized testing and old fashioned academia there was in this book - my favorite things to bitch about!

I read The Love Hypothesis about a year ago, and while I enjoyed it, I didn’t quite understand the rave reviews surrounding it. That being said, I think it was because of the age gap between the two mc’s, since the power dynamic seemed unbalanced. Plus, fake dating just isn’t for me.
However, Love on the Brain was phenomenal, and has been replaying in my head nonstop after weeks of my first read.
There are so many things to love: the main character Bee, is such a quirky, smart, and wonderful lead, and was very well fleshed out by the author. The love story incredibly beautiful, and the connection between Bee and her love interest was palpable. Above all else, it’s fun! The writing style is humorous and lighthearted, ultimately making it the most I have enjoyed reading in a while!
For any romance fans who love strong female main characters, a stem environment, and a perfect summer read, I would highly recommend.
