As an adult I have fallen in love with children’s fantasy novels, especially ones I can share some greater truth in with my own children, which is the only reason I finally decided to pick this up as an adult and at least give the series a chance before disregarding it entirely. There were a few points I felt that were well made - the wonder of being famous without knowing it and how sometimes the less fortunate in the world turn out to be very influential people. And the writing style was decent. But, overall for all the hype this series gets I just thought it was overall goofy, over the top, and felt strongly that it encourages the “everyone is a witch” mentality. I am not against magic in books, but this leans more toward glorifying witchiness in real life. I know many people say it’s a slow starting series. It was just not my favorite.

⭐️ 5/5. Obviously this book gets 5 stars. The fall vibes are immaculate and helped put me into the cozy and spooky mood this week! The nostalgia was exactly what I needed.🧙‍♀️

Glad I’m rereading Harry Potter starting today, September 1st! (The day they all go back to Hogwarts as the first day of school in the books!)⚡️

Maybe I’m just biased, but Harry Potter will always be a five star read. Even though controversies that have come about recently, Harry Potter always holds a place in my heart.

I’m rereading it at 23, and to think 11 years ago - Harry, Ron, Hermione, were practically friends I never had. (Well when I was three I loved the movies but the sentiment still applies.) As an awkward, quiet, child in school, one that had few solid friends. The Harry Potter Universe was one that comforted me all throughout childhood.

Rereading this novel made me remember the themes of friendship - and most importantly - bravery. I’m glad I was exposed to them in this way, and The Sorcerers Stone will forever be a classic in my eyes.
