This was just fantastic! This felt like such a Louise Rennison book, just now with murder instead of comedy and romance. Murder committed by menstrual products (or at least using them to frame a murder) was just perfectly done and I loved it. That is sure one way to get rid of someone. The characters were fabulous, I especially loved the MC, she was so fun and sweet. There is also a dash of romance and it fitted perfectly in the book (though I was worried he was the killer for a bit). All in all, highly recommend to read! I am so going to be reading the second book soon! And maybe with that one I will be able to write a review, haha.

I had high expectations for it but honestly i just found the book annoying. The whole book sounded like an adlut was trying to be cool and use like "hip" volcab

I did read some of the comments below and honestly? I loveeeee this book. Perhaps it was funnier to me since I listened to the audio book, in which the narrator was able to pick up the nuance between two of the most awkward teenagers, ever, and bring them to life for us. I cackled at some parts.

While the two main characters were enjoyable, I do have some thoughts that we could have toned down one’s behavior to be a little more thoughtful of her best friend; but then again, isn’t that how we all are as teens? We’re too much, and adults think so little of teens, that you can just see Annie bursting at the seems to be in the spotlight. Thankfully, her and Kerry are better detectives than popular lol

I’m not sure why I chose this book, the blurb is amusing/intriguing and the first page is all about vagina’s.

What kept me reading is the plot and wanting to know whodunnit. The cast of side characters are mainly caricatures, and the love interest is barely fleshed out at all. The clues were neatly peppered throughout the story, although the plot got a bit soggy around the middle with one scene in particular leaving me with a sense of WTF. Perhaps the middle was all about misdirection as, I fairly quickly went for the same suspect as the police (who are portrayed as incredibly grossly incompetent), although I did have the actual culprit in mind, as a far out theory. I’m usually really bad at figuring out culprits but the clues, the jokes, the girls’ feminism was all pretty heavy handed. The one bit that was well done was Kerry and Annie’s misfit friendship and how close they were.

What intrigued me is why Kerry was the main character. For the majority of the story she was either reluctantly dragged along by Annie,  or doing what she was told. In terms of solving the murders it wasn’t until the third victim that Kerry actually made a choice.

So all in all it was a bit meh, but it’s a quick easy read.

I loved these two main characters. I thought they were hilarious and relatable. The story over all I found only so so but it kept my interest. Hope we get to visit with Kerry and Annie again!
