This second in the trilogy is a bit of a placeholder till the third comes along, setting up the action for the final novella.
The story has Shining and her crew of lots of cats and a few humans going to pick up a vital piece of equipment, fighting most of the way there and back. There’s a lot more world building here as the action isn’t confined to the junkyard. There’s less technobabble, making the story more accessible. And, as in the first book, the cats are just great.
There’s some serious stuff here, sex slaves and torture, betrayal and revenge. It may be too dark for some but I, for one, liked it and am eager for the third book to be published.
