Pretty good entertaining read. My one main critique though was I spent 85% of the novel learning to try and like this character and then he brutally beats a kid who tried to help him after the bear mauling. Not only was that not historically accurate based on the end notes by the author, but it really made me lose all empathy with the character. Poor writing choice in my estimate.

I am a massive fan of the movie, so I knew I had to detach myself while reading this book. Well written and it was easy to follow, but I was disappointed in the ending. Not bad.
