This book just feels like a warm hug from a good friend. It's so sweet without being saccharin, the found family element is so well-done, I just loved every bit of it! I wish I could be friends with Mika, she's a delight!

What a lovely read. I really enjoyed such a diverse group of witches and I loved that the author didn’t shy away from issues of race within such a whimsical setting. Mika Moon felt very real and her motivations and actions felt very sensible and on brand. Only reason it’s not a five star is that I felt some parts were unnecessarily slow. Bit too much filler here and there but overall I enjoyed the message.

This is pretty much a TJ Klune book, which is not a bad thing, I just kept hoping it would surprise me a bit more. (If, on the other hand, you enjoyed this and have somehow not read Klune, you’re missing out). It’s sweet, cozy and peripherally Christmas-y, and the characters are very lovable - it is a pleasant if not especially challenging read. The audio narrator was quite good, especially in differentiating the three children without getting too cloying.

I loved how cozy and enchanting this book was.  Found family was fantastic, and I loved the slow burn for Jamie and Mika.  That said I didn't like their fully together scene, it felt out of place to the rest of the book.  Loved the woods scene though that was fantastic.  The children were an interesting complication, and I loved Ian. The last 50 pages felt like a lot but the pay off was worth it.  Beautiful ending.

Fantastically cozy read with loveable children characters and although the ending was a bit everything is okay in the end I didn't mind it at all and was actually shocked by the twist

This was a very welcome softer read.  It had the found family, the magic, life passions/ambitions, the kids were cute, and let's not forget the swoony words!

I don't know if I would change the rating if I reread it but since it's the first in a series I will continue when more books are released, there's a chance.
