If you're looking for a Jurassic Park adjacent story, I do not recommend this for that. Dragon Teeth is a 100% historical fiction novel that doesn't even have very much to do with fossils at all. That being said, I found this story to be fairly enjoyable as basically a paleontologist-centric cowboy western. There's far more plot regarding traveling in the pre-settled West than anything else.
The MMC was not particularly lovable at first (spoiled brat actually) but he had a decent amount of character growth over the course of the book. It was also a little predictable trope-y where the rich brat goes through a bunch of shit and comes back rugged and no-nonsense. Honestly, not a lot actually happened as far as plot goes either, it was kind of a rambling journey west then back east again. Although, I found it to be enjoyable, it wasn't particularly imaginative nor did it have any outstandingly special plot points or characteristics.
