the authors note at the end was rlly insightful. he mentioned how he wrote kite runner for himself, did well, and had to somehow follow it up with another great book - but what would he possible right? 

and of course, thought of growing up in kabul and seeing liberated women vs southern regions of more oppression + continued oppression during the war == 
why not write a story about women suffering and surviving nonetheless, and about the power of female relationships (alliance, friendship, motherhood)

I loved it
Simple and sort(pretty much like me..lol)
This is fiction based on real events
Which made me cry and love it more.... knowing what happens in real life after the events of the book

A beautiful written story of a girl and a country. It’s brings tears and a smile. It makes you appreciate life at a higher level and it forces you to appreciate a fellow being! To believe that each one of us walks a different path of life and each one of us has an immense strength within themselves.
