Even though the rich-guy-poor-girl trope has been done to death, this one managed to feel so special and nice. Any time I want a sweet and heartwarming romantic story, I can always count on Kasie West to deliver it.

Na další knihu od Westové jsem se hodně těšila, i když jsem z těch posledních pár romancí, které vyšly, nebyla tak nadšená, Vzdálenost mezi námi mi to vše vynahradila. Je to skvělý příběh!
Sedmnáctiletá Caymen Meyersová prodává v obchodě s porcelánovými panenkami a s mamkou mají co dělat, aby vyšly s penězi. Jednoho dne vejde do krámu Xander Spence, u kterého je na sto honů poznat, že je až nechutně bohatý. Caymen ví, že boháčům se nedá věřit, když ale Xander vypadá tak dobře a nějak si prostě nemůže pomoct... Mezi nimi je ale spoustu rozdílů, dokáží je překonat?
Nejnovější westovka byla nádherná jednohubka, kterou jsem zhltla za cca tři hodinky a šíleně si to užila. Jedinou výtku bych měla k tomu (až k vzteku urychlenému konci), přitom by mi vůbec nevadilo, kdyby kniha měla minimálně o 50 stran víc. Postavy mi za tak krátkou dobu moc přirostly k srdci a vůbec jsem se s nimi nechtěla loučit.
Kromě skvělé romantické linky, kde nechyběla chemie, má Caymen úžasně vtipné sarkastické hlášky, kterými je proslulá a věřím, že si je zamiluje snad úplně každý čtenář.
Vzdálenost mezi námi se rozhodně řadí k tomu nejlepšímu (ano, i přes ten zatraceně rychlý konec), co jsem od Kasie Westové četla a moc vám ji doporučuji.

Super quick, cute read. It lost a star for doing the whole "not like other girls" thing. Other than that, cute and funny. Perfect after the mind fuck that was Sharp Objects.

You should read this book outside on a beautiful summer day, when you’re in the mood for something quick and mindless.
You should read this book after a long week of hard work, while neglecting a 500-pager on your desk.
Pair it with your favorite chocolate and a cozy blanket.
I read The distance between us on a real loomy grey day right in between winter and spring, when the streets are full of half-melted snow and you’re lucky to spot the sun for two seconds.
I was in my bed while procrastinating important things like washing my hair, doing homework and painting my nails. Spoiler: only got the last one done. Mission accomplished!
Safe to say the timing was a little off for me.
I’m not picky with my fluff, I’ll take anything from [b:Anna and the French Kiss|6936382|Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)|Stephanie Perkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358271931s/6936382.jpg|7168450]s with too-perfect love interests or [b:Hex Hall|5287473|Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)|Rachel Hawkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1368393885s/5287473.jpg|5354884], with an over-the-top narrator and a boarding school for paranormal creatures.
As long as the book doesn't annoy me or bore me, I’ll accept pretty much anything when I need a light read.
What made Kasie West’s first contemporary a so-so book for me was the boring story, paired with forgettable characters.
The plot wasn't light enough for me to sweep through the book without having to think about it, but not heavy enough for me to be emotionally invested.
It was somewhere in between, and felt forced like it had to be there so it wouldn’t be deemed mindless.
I love Kasie West’s brand of humor; very sassy, upbeat and relatable. Her teenagers sound like teenagers and real people.
That’s why I was surprised when Caymen and I didn’t click. She is wildly sarcastic and honest. I thought she and I would be best friends, but she came off as obnoxious and tiring.
All her problems would’ve been solved if she’d opened up and talked about it, and I just wanted to shake her.
Caymen was frustrating and came off as dumb sometimes, especially
Who the hell trusts a paper called Starz, with a z.
I thought she was more clever than that, and it felt like she tried too hard to be funny.
The romance was sweet but unremarkable. If I had loved these characters, I would’ve adored this book.
It was a big disappointment after reading and adoring Pivot Point.
Final verdict:
3/5 in cuteness, 2/5 for plot and 2/5 for characters.

I really really enjoyed this book! As with all Kasie West books, I found the story to be both cheesy, entertaining, and just a lot of fun. This was a book that just left my smiling the entire time. I would have liked just a bit more, the ending felt very rushed, and I just wanted more. Overall though this was exactly the type of book I was needing.

I can't believe it's been a week since I've read this book and I still haven't recovered from the hangover this book has given me. What could possibly be the reason why? Hmm.. maybe because this book is bloody brilliant! I know some may think otherwise but in my opinion this is the bestest contemporary book I've read in a long time. And bestest isn't even a word. Imagine if I have used another word to describe it other than bestest and brilliant. I no longer want to imagine anything past that.
I will still attempt on a proper review but do not expect one anytime soon. I'm still recuperating. This book has damaged me.. in a good way, of course.:D
