A great read. At moments, I really had to try and use my imagination to the best of my ability to really understand what was happening.

It was a slow burn, but it’s builds up and the story just gets better up to the very end. I loved following Bod through his adventures in the graveyard. Bittersweet ending.

I remember having this as one of my favourites when I was younger. (I didn't remember the ending until I was a few pages away from the end though) The Graveyard Book is dark but also ironically, delightful.

Definitely the kind of book I would pass down to the next generation when they're younger.

My favourite quote;
Face your life,
It's pain, it's pleasure,
Leave no path untaken.

A fun spooky book without the horror.

This is classic Gaiman through and through. It has wonderful characters to fall in love with, strange and macabre traditions, and is brilliantly atmospheric throughout. Watching Bod grow up with his ghostly family is a joy, but Silas and Liza are particularly fantastic characters.

The last chapter really bumped this to 5 stars for me. What haven’t I already said about Neil Gaiman—he’s just the master. His stories are so uniquely his own, so perfectly balanced between the fantastical and grotesque, and the gut wrenchingly profound. I loved experiencing this on audio, in his own voice. I won’t forget these characters—Bod, Silas, Mr. and Mrs. Owens, the man Jack, the Sleer and all the other graveyard inhabitants—anytime soon.

Absolutely love this book, in case it wasn't obvious by the fact that I've read it 3 times now, ha ha! The characters are fantastic + I loved the spooky yet cozy vibes of the graveyard setting. It's quite lighthearted, but also manages to touch on some really heavy themes. Would absolutely recommend, especially to read around spooky season!
