This was a cute book about Gideon, who usually builds sandcastles with his sister , Audrey. But this time, he decides he’s going to build an awesome sandcastle all by himself. It takes him many tries, it he finally builds and epic castle, but he’s all alone. He notices his family building a not-so-perfect sandcastle, but it looks like a lot of fun. So, he decides to join them.

This book has a good message that sometimes doing things all alone, even if they turn out great, can be lonely. It’s nice to include our siblings in things, and sometimes it’s okay to just have fun, and not be perfect.

Enjoyed the illustrations but the story was predictable and felt preachy.
