700-ish pages of misogyny and predictable capitalist propaganda. ive read more interesting essays from 1st graders. i wish i could give this 0 stars. hands down worst book ive ever read <3

“To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That’s what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked you to keep your soul, would you understand why that’s much harder?”

I debated all day on what to rate this. (A matter of utmost importance, lol.) I really believe it’s a 5 star book.

I don’t agree with the whole of Objectivism, which is the philosophy that the novel is based around. But the story in which it was contained, and the insights into humanity that it offered, were poignant and provoking. I completely didn’t understand the characters at certain points, while other times I understood them as if they were my own self; I came to believe that they represented principles rather than actual “people.” Regardless, I was fascinated by them. I feel like I have SO MUCH to still digest from this book…it has to be one of the most complex things I’ve ever read. And yet, not at all stuffy…incredible writing, and overall absolutely engrossing.

Changed my life for the better.
People pleasers and those scared to find themselves due to societal pressure take notice!!!

No! Reading this book won't make you an egoist/ egotist (whatever it is! :D) But there are pages in this book which you'd like to freeze, frame and put up on your wall and read everyday!!
Relationship dynamics between Howard Roark and Dominique Francon- so unusual to the point you start wondering are they really human?
Overall the book is what it's meant to be- philosophical.

You may sell objectivism mumbo-jumbo, but I'm not going to buy your idea of 'Fantasy-rape'.
Dominique is a highly complex character and Howrad Roark a di** head.
Dry philosophy which may leave readers with a bitter taste.

I both love this book and find it a massive pile of melodramatic crap. A paradox.
