Just like other books by Matthew Reilly this was a super fast-paced and easy read. There was some intense moments and unexpected ones too. All the characters were there own, however sometimes I felt as if too many were introduced but then again there were heaps of races in this books a lot of contestants.
Not my favourite Matthew Reilly book but definitely worth a read. A little different to his other books and definitely suited for teenagers or as an easy read for an adult.

For my first Matthew Reilly book, I’m glad I read this one. It was so fun and engaging. I read the book so quickly as there was never a dull moment. Even thought the book it’s self moved very quickly, everything was explained really well and made easy to understand.
The characters were all really great. The way the characters were written and portrayed thoughtful the story reflected the way you as a reader felt about them.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book. Really enjoyed it!

I loved all his other books. Fluff. Very entertaining, fast-paced fluff with great heroes. But what was he thinking, when he wrote this? Minimalistic plot, no substance. Just an endless narration of one race after the other. This might work well as a biweekly release on the Internet, targeted at teenagers with no attention span. But it certainly doesn't work as a book. It is just repetitive. Each chapter feels like the previous one. Fast-paced race, hero against the odds, sabotage of his car, him turning that into a win, the crowd going ballistic. And again. And again. And again. What a disappointment.

When I read the back of the book I suspected that this was gonna be Matthew Reilly's weakest book. Turns out I was wrong, the pace of this book is intense, the racing really comes alive of the pages. The plot is a bit formulaic "a kid from humble background fights his way to the top to compete with the best".
As usual with a Reilly book the characters are great and you can't help but cheer them on.
I remember reading this book at work whilst doing a very boring job of using a routing machine to make holes in 300 boxes, this certainly helped to pass the time quicker.

Started to read this with my 10 yo son, but he nicked it and read ahead until it was finished. He really liked it.
