Actual rating: 3.5/5.0
Overall: Good payoff - nice to have a Percy Jackson-esque long series that we get to experience again. However, to me, Percy Jackson (original) was more iconic, and I enjoyed the non-Greek-myth series by Riordan more than this one. However, it was like revisiting my childhood favorites again, but getting to enjoy them for the first time, for which I am grateful!
3.5 stars because - no regrets having spent time with this book/series, but I will probably never reach for it again.
My rating scale:
5: Amazing book, incredible, easily a favorite for me. Would revisit.
4: The book masterfully does exactly what it sets out to do. It’s not a forever favorite of mine, but it’s excellent.
3: It’s nice, I enjoyed reading it. Probably will forget about it tomorrow.
2: It’s alright. Probably wouldn’t mind reading it in the doctor’s waiting room.
1: Absolutely not for me.
